I was in a progressive groove metal band for years. Wrote the hardest music I've yet to hear. Influences like log, gojira, btbam, pantera, the ocean, dream theater. But very different from all of those. The most talented drummer I've ever come across, my best friend at the time. 2 guys with an ear for guitar riffs, timing, transitions, and melody that I could barely keep up with as the bassist. We had 2.5 albums worth of material, none of it sub-par. But our personal lives were all a wreck. We held it together practicing in a park, a single wide, a barn, for years. When it finally all dissolved, I was burnt out on music for close to a decade. Discovering Maastaden and now this, makes me feel like I can come home.
